WE GROW:- Our avocados are grown and then hand picked from the trees in the orchards once they are mature. The fruit is carefully tested for maturity before we harvest them. Once picked the fruit is mature but it is still hard. This is one of nature’s small miracles because it allows us to harvest the fruit, sort it and get it to market still fresh and looking good. WE RESEARCH:- Westfalia has its own in-house dedicated team (15 people) of scientists and technicians who focus on varietal development, innovation and environmental matters. Westfalia Technological Services (WTS) is the largest privately funded sub-tropical research organisation in the world. WE PACK:- Avocados and mangoes are picked and packed in our own orchards in South Africa. Related products ? which include avocado oil and guacamole, fresh juice and dried mango ? are processed in the Westfalia factories. WE SHIP:- We market fruit from our own farms and from over 40 countries around the globe. Avocado: Westfalia exports over 50% of South Africa’s total avocado export volume, in excess of 5 million cartons in 2011. Mango: Westfalia sells over 7 million cartons worldwide. WE SELL:- Our sales offices are located in South Africa, Holland, England (Greencell Ltd) and France (Comexa SAS). In addition to the marketing services, we operate ripening, packing and handling facilities on all our locations. We serve most major retailers in South Africa and Europe. WE CARE:- We are a responsible grower that cares passionately about the quality of our produce, the environment where it is grown or processed and the specific needs of customers. We care about the people that are part of the Westfalia group of companies. Our marketing operations are global with offices spanning Europe and the Southern Hemisphere providing our expertise and practical advice from a commercial and technical perspective to customers in Africa, Far East, Europe and Middle East.
